The candidate specification
We are seeking an experienced 1st Officer to join a well-established crew on a vessel with an exciting Mediterranean and Caribbean itinerary. With a strong emphasis on internal promotion, the team values growth from within. The yacht is currently in the yard until January 2025, will head to the Caribbean, so a valid B1/B2 visa is required. We are looking for someone to join around January 6, 2025, on approximately 6 weeks on/6 weeks off rotation. As the 1st Officer you will also take on the responsibilities of Safety and Security Officer and must hold an SSO ticket in addition to an OOW Unlimited ticket, with progress toward Chief Mate Unlimited preferred. Ideal candidates will have climbed the ranks, with hands-on deck experience that includes maintenance, launching, and tender driving. Qualifications:
- Valid STCW Certification, including Chief Mate Unlimited
- Previous managerial experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures, including ISM and ISPS codes
- Proficiency in the use of navigational equipment and software
- Good physical condition and ability to work in an outdoor environment
- Required experience: Yachting experience
- Qualification: STCW, ENG1, Covid Vaccinated, OOW Unlimited
