Summary

Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Bosun for a 70m+ New build

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Bosun on similar size yachts

Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration

Excellent maintenance skills and a keen eye for detail.

Proficiency in running daily and weekly meetings, with effective communication skills

Knowledge of deck store management, quantity, and resupply procedures

Familiarity with Pinpoint Works and IDEA planned maintenance a plus

Competency in water sports activities and willingness to teach guests

Job description:

Lead and supervise a team of 4 deckhands, encouraging a positive and collaborative work environment. Demonstrate excellent maintenance skills and attention to detail in all deck-related tasks. Conduct daily and weekly meetings to ensure effective communication and task delegation. Manage deck stores quantity and resupply, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained. Utilize autonomy in decision-making on deck, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Exhibit proficiency in water sports activities. Showcase carpentry skills for ongoing maintenance and repair projects.

Certificate requirements:

Yacht Master commercially endorsed or equivalent 

STCW certificates & ENG1 in date

Advanced fire fighting

PWC instructors

Yacht Rating certificate

Maintenance skills / additional skills

Diving certificates a plus

OOW modules a plus but not necessary

Start date: August

Location: TBC

Salary: DOE industry standard

Leave: 120 days per year
