Yotspot takes Antigua Charter Yacht Show 2024
The Yotspot team embarked on a journey from London Heathrow to the sun-kissed shores of Antigua for the Antigua Charter Yacht Show.
This show is an annual event that showcases some of the finest luxury yachts available for charter. The primary purpose of the show is to bring together yacht charter professionals, brokers, and industry experts, providing them with the opportunity to inspect and tour an impressive fleet of luxury charter yachts.
It’s fair to say that Antigua is firmly back on the map with a record number of yachts attending to maximise chances in the now competitive market following the significant decrease seen in charter bookings this year.
Wednesday 4th December
Our journey began with a morning flight that landed us at V C Bird International Airport. Once we checked into our hotel we headed over to check in with Northrop & Johnson at The Galley Bar. We then headed over to The Copper and Lumber Store Hotel where we set up for the Captains Briefing which he sponsored with MYS Worldwide Yacht Services where we had the chance to present Yotspot and an exciting launch of the Black Account.
In the evening, we had the pleasure of attending the Antigua Sundowners Evening, hosted by Superyacht Charities. This event brings together the superyacht community in support of GILM Inc which is a non-profit charitable organisation that has been operating for over 25 years, working with underprivileged families and single women with children.
Thursday 5th December
The morning kicked off with the much-anticipated opening of the yachts for viewing, marking the first official opportunity of the year to tour the vessels. We strolled through the stunning marinas, stepping aboard luxurious yachts and catching up with clients, crew and partners.
As evening fell, we headed to the Captains’ Dinner which we organised in collaboration with Dohle Yachts, DAK, and Peninsula. Held at the beautiful AYC Clubhouse, the evening was a perfect blend of fine dining and great company, making it a standout moment of the day.The festivities continued with the Welcome Cocktail Networking event at the historic Copper & Lumber Store in Nelson’s Dockyard. Sponsored by MYS Worldwide Yacht Services, the event offered the perfect backdrop to connect with industry peers and celebrate the spirit of the charter yacht community.
Friday 6th December
The yachts opened for viewing for the first time this year, and we had an incredible time touring the marinas and meeting the crew onboard. Highlights included visits to M/Y Unbridled, M/Y Zedexplorer, and M/Y Maverick. Keep an eye out for more exciting content from these visits!
As the evening rolled on the networking continued with an evening of yacht hopping. Our first stop was M/Y Maverick, where we were treated to a luxurious champagne and oyster reception. The night concluded aboard M/Y Triumph, which hosted a lively cocktail party featuring exceptional provisions by Onshore Cellars—a perfect end to a productive and inspiring day.
Saturday 7th December
Today in Antigua, we kicked off the day with our informative hour session designed to help attendees make the most of Yotspot. We shared insider tips, demonstrated essential tools, and showed how to streamline searches for top crew while maximising all the platform’s features. It was a joy to help everyone navigate Yotspot like a pro!
The day continued with a visit to S/Y Abide, where we caught up with the crew and exchanged ideas. From there, it was straight into a series of insightful back-to-back meetings, reconnecting face-to-face with clients. In the evening, we headed over to the Nelson’s Dockyard Marina night, hosted by the National Park Authority and National Marine Suppliers. The event was filled with incredible entertainment, including talented steelpan performers who perfectly captured the lively spirit of Antigua!
Sunday 8th December
On our final day in Antigua, we made the most of every moment, soaking up the last of the show and reflecting on the week. As the sun set, we bid farewell in style with the show Pirate of the Caribbean leaving party sponsored by MYS Worldwide Yacht Services , Serenity Digital, Yatco and J&W Nicholson Antigua Ltd. The party was full of crew looking to let their hair down after an intense week with entertainment from live international DJs and crew DJ competition
It was a great way to end an amazing trip!
Now we are back at the Yotspot HQ and following up with connections made and content collected. We also want to take a moment to express our gratitude to the team that put together this event. The success of the show is a testament to the dedication and hard work you put in.
Until next year Antigua 👋
