Yotspot launches your Route To Certification (career path)

The team behind Yotspot is often inundated with questions on what crew need to do to progress in the super yacht industry. Often, crew tell us they feel frustrated when trying to find out what modules, sea time and qualifications they need to complete in order to further their career. We understand that as crew, you can hear mixed messages on what you need to do in order to obtain a qualification. To help you navigate through these muddy waters Yotspot has Launched our Route To Certifiation platform.

What have we created?

Every member that registers with us (11,000 + growing) has a unique crew profile which is individual to them. This includes their experience, but more importantly what qualifications and courses they have achieved to date. Using this information and working closely with the industry guidelines, we have created routes to certifications (career paths) for each department, namely Deck, Interior, Galley and Engineering to show crew how far they have come along their career path and what they need to do next. This could be doing an ‘Advanced Fire Fighting’ course to progress with their Chief Mate

How does it work exactly?

(1) Create and complete a profile with Yotspot

(2) Tell Yotspot what qualifications and modules you have and what roles you are interested in.

(3) Click your “My Career” section and here you will find the courses, modules and sea time you require in order to progress along your relevant career path.

(4) Qualifications and modules you have will appear in Green. Simply click on modules you need to complete and see the training providers that run them.
