The Advanced Fire Fighting is a component module of the MCA Chief Mate (Yachts less than 3000gt) certification. This five-day course builds on basic fire knowledge, awareness and safety procedures on board. It includes elements of command and control together with the importance of stability and ship integrity. Accommodation: • Food and accommodation are available onsite at UKSA. The residential price for this course is £1,210.
Course Structure
The course is structured around a number of practical searches, rescue techniques, casualty evacuation practices and live fire exercises.
Useful Information
Pre-requisite experience: • Hold a Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2) certificate • Six months must have elapsed since completing the Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2) course. Examination and assessment: • Examined by continual assessment • Based on the Merchant Navy Training Board Syllabus approved by the MCA.
