The STCW Advanced Fire Fighting training course forms part of the training required for deck and engineering officers who wish to qualify for a certificate of competency and crew who are designated to control fire fighting operations.
This course builds upon the basic skills learnt whilst undergoing the STCW-95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course with a large emphasis on “Command and Control”. During this highly practical course you will be put through your paces and will be assessed on your ability to control fire fighting operations.
Course Structure
Prerequisites: Those undertaking this training must have completed STCW95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (Section A-VI/1-2 of the STCW Code) or similar training acceptable to the MCA.
The following certifications are accepted:
- STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certificate
- MNTB Stage One Fire Fighting course
- Royal Navy Fire Fighting course
Although not recommended for inexperienced seafarers, those who have not undertaken training in accordance with the above may undergo combined training covering the requirements for certificates in STCW 95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting as well as STCW Advanced Fire Fighting.
