Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3)

Based on IMO Model Course 2.03, the Advanced Fire Fighting Refresher is designed for Emergency Response fire team leaders on board ships; this training helps refresh fire team leaders’ skills and gives adequate knowledge to a team leader to lead a fire team during a hazardous situation on-board involving the different fire situations. Moreover candidates are updated with latest development concerning different classes of fires on-board and how various emergencies were dealt with.

1. Theory of combustion.

2. Fire behaviour, fire prevention & classification of fire.

3. Control of Fires.

4. Compartment firefighting techniques.

5. Inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishing substances, fire extinguishers and equipment.

6. Firefighting drills, organize and train fire parties

7. Firefighting command structure and leadership.

8. Awareness of dangerous goods and susceptible cargoes.

9. Search and recovery of casualties.

10. Machinery space firefighting.

11. Fixed firefighting systems.

12. Fire men outfit and breathing apparatus.

13. Ship’s structure and Stability integrity.

14. Fire detection equipment and investigation.

15. Liaison with Fire & Rescue Services

17. Accident report analysis.
