If you are wishing to pursue a career in Close Protection you will need to undertake an approved training course in order to apply for your SIA Close Protection Licence.

Colossal Training run a 14 day (inclusive of weekends) Close Protection course which culminates in a 48 hour final exercise which will test the students on all the learning objectives that are covered.

Smart casuals are the order of the day during most of the exercises, although more formal dress may be a requirement in some operations.

HABC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry Learning Objectives:

This course covers three mandatory units.

Unit 1

Planning, Preparing and Supporting a Close Protection Operation.

Unit 2

Working as a Close Protection Operative.

Unit 3

Conflict Management with the Private Security Industry.

Assessment

Students are assessed by three multiple-choice examinations, open response questions and practical assessment.
