STCW Elementary First Aid is one of the four compulsory commercial modules required to work on larger vessels. It is internationally recognised and covers CPR, breaks & splints, bandaging, drowning and hypothermia and much more.
Our instructors are career professionals in the medical world and are serving paramedics in most cases. We choose them carefully to ensure they have specific seafarer knowledge as well as extensive expoerience in their field.
The course conforms to "Regulation VI/1, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/1, paragraph 2.1.3 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended".
In accordance with IMO rules, this course has no expiry date since it is considered the certificate holder will be acting as an initial responder under the guidance onboard ship of the holder of a Medical First Aid certificate. Please note that if the Elementary First Aid qualification is used as part of the requirements to be in charge of a vessel working in the MCA Small Craft code it should be renewed every 3 years.
