This training is intended for seafarers who are required to take charge of Fast Rescue Boats (FRB). The objective is to acquire knowledge of the construction and type of fast rescue boats and associated equipment; to take charge of FRB’s during launch and recovery; participate in all aspects of rescue and care of casualties from the water and to operate FRB engine(s). Assessment is by direct observation and oral questioning. There is no expiry date on this certificate.
Course Structure
• Launch and recovery of FRB; Swimming in special equipment; Search Patterns
• Righting a capsized FRB; Handling FRB’s in the seaway
• Recovery of a casualty from the water; Use of communications and signalling equipment
