Northwest Maritime Academy is pleased to present a program of training specifically designed for those mariners who work on vessels specifically equipped with fast rescue boats.
This three day program has become the marine industry standard and is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. A mariner who successfully completes this course will satisfy the training requirements of 46 CFR 12.617(a)(3) and STCW Code Section A-VI/2 and the competency demonstration requirements of 46 CFR 12.617(a)(4) and STCW Code Table A-VI/2-2 for an STCW endorsement for Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats.
Course Highlights include a wide array of topics: Fast Rescue Boat launch and recovery methods, open water search and rescue techniques, search protocols and procedures, as well as rescue control center communications and rescue swimming.
