The Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers.
The course deals with good practice and precautions for preventing fires aboard ship, examining how fires start and initial available means of extinguishing them.
Also included is practical training in the use of fire fighting equipment and the use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue.
