Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (A-VI /1-2)

This course is a pre-requisite for entry to the Merchant Navy and conforms to the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) standard. The course also forms part of the 5 day STCW Combined course.

Course Structure

Delegates successfully completing the course will have gained experience and knowledge of:

Appreciation of the hazards involved in fire at sea

Fire prevention precautions to be taken

Fire detection and means of raising the alarm

Initial first aid actions on discovery of a fire

The duties of members of a fire party and the equipment used

Exercises and demonstrations of appliances and equipment
