The Basic Fire Fighting course is aimed at skippers and crew of small vessels and is suitable for fishermen, boatmen, inshore ferry operators and pilot vessels.
Course Structure
The different types and correct use of extinguishers.
The chemistry and theory of combustion.
Knowledge and use of fire fighting equipment.
Actions to be taken in the event of a fire.
Useful Information
Candidates must be over 16.
Classroom teaching is followed by a practical session to consolidate the skills and procedures taught.
Every candidate takes part using the various extinguishers and fire blankets.
