This GMDSS qualification is designed for mariners who will be operating within GMDSS Area A1 (VHF range) only (the GOC is required for those who will be operating Outside A1 areas).
The course covers all the requirements for this certification. Candidates also receive a comprehensive set of course notes, which in addition to enabling self study whilst on the course, will be a valuable reference manual when the candidate returns to his/her ship.
The ROC is also the minimum GMDSS qualification that the MCA will accept for certificate of competency revalidation.
