Course Structure
Approved Engine Certificate (AEC 1) (Yachts)
This course provides students with the basic theoretical knowledge and some practical hands on experience of diesel engines to work as dual deck hand/engineers on yachts over 24m.
Prerequisites
18 years and over
Hold a current medical fitness certificate – ENG 1
Have completed:
a.(i) for candidates with no formal engineering craft training, not less than 1 month’s service as a yacht engineer; or
(ii) for candidates with MN MEOL basic engineering craft skills training or MCA approved formal engineering craft training, not yacht engineer service is required.
