Preparation courses (5 days) – £600
Day 1 will be concentrate on refreshing chart work skills with a quick test to check your background knowledge. We’ll then spend the next day looking at other areas of the Master 200 oral syllabus covered by RYA Yachtmaster training. The remaining 3 days will cover Electronic Navigation, Radar, Watchkeeping, Navtex, Bridge procedure, Masters responsibility, Watch handover, ColRegs Rule 19 restricted visibility, GMDSS, Bridge control failure, Pollution prevention, Pollution incidents, Garbage management, Stability, Effects of stability, Codes of practice and LY code, CoSWP, Musters, Legal obligation, Salvage, Safe manning, hours of work and Crew agreements.
Additional refresher training on any of the syllabus covered by RYA training is available on request. We understand that it’s not always possible to book your oral exam to link in with the end of our prep course, past students have also recommended a slight gap between the two in order to consolidate what they’ve learnt. To help anyone with a longer gap between the two, we offer a reduced price of £75 per day to allow students to come back on a later scheduled prep course nearer to their oral for just a day or the whole course if required.
