Course Structure
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- To reach the minimum standards of competence as set by Transport Malta.?
- Competent to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency onboard
- Competent in ship management including leading the ship’s crew through delegation and team work.?
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Would have a thorough knowledge of the International Collision Regulations
- Would have a thorough knowledge on how to be the leader of the bridge team and how to act in an emergency
- Will gain a deep knowledge of on board operations and the Master’s responsibilities
- Will have a thorough knowledge of seaworthiness, safety and security management of a ship

ENROLMENT STANDARDS:
- Applicant must have at least 24 months appropriate service.?
- Be in possession of a Letter of Eligibility by Transport Malta.?
- Be in possession of General Purpose Deckhand Certificate.?
