Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI /1-1)

This course covers the syllabus required by the STCW Code 1995 Table AVI/1-1. It describes what you can do to ensure your survival in the event that you have to abandon ship at sea and what preparations you should make.

You Will learn: The course describes the organisation that you will become part of when you join your yacht. It includes a two-hour pool drill where the correct use of an inflatable life raft is practised, including boarding and capsize drills. Students should be physically fit. Any medical condition, especially back, cardiac or respiratory conditions, should be drawn to the attention of the instructor.
