Proficiency as Ship Security Officer (SSO) (A-VI/5)

PREREQUISITES

At least 12 months sea service or at the discretion of the MCA - appropriate sea service (minimum three months) and knowledge of ships operations to enable them to achieve the objectives of the training. The latter requirement must be checked directly from the MCA.

TEACHING & LEARNING

A hands-on practical training approach is taken to deliver this course in which lectures, videos, group discussions, and practical scenario based exercises combined with active delegate participation forms a compulsory part of training and assessment.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment for this course consists of two parts – an ongoing assessment though involvement in group exercises and an end of course written assessment.
