This IMO model course is intended to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO). This course meets the Ship Security Officer Course requirements of STCW code, IMO Model course 3.19 and the ISPS Code.

Prerequisites
No specific entry requirements are contemplated. However, to obtain a certificate of proficiency as Ship Security Officer, the trainee shall have obtained approved seagoing service as mentioned in STCW Regulation VI/5 as amended.
Validity of Certificate
Delegates, who have successfully completed the IMO model course 3.19, will be issued with a ‘Ship Security Officer (SSO)’ certificate.
