RYA Advanced Pilotage

This course is ideal for those who wish to progress their night pilotage skills. The Advanced Pilotage course is usually taken after the RYA Day Skipper Course but before the RYA Coastal Skipper.

The aim of the course is to improve pilotage skills with more difficult harbour entries and build confidence in night cruising.

Course Structure

A relatively new addition to our RYA Practical Motor Cruising courses in Greece, designed to take Day Skippers to the next level. The concentration is on more complex mooring situations, difficult harbour entires and exits plus better familiarity with night cruising.

Ability after the course: Able to undertake more complex passages by day and night.

Minimum age: 18

Maximum Student to Instructor ratio: 4:1

Method of assessment: Continual by your Instructor, there are no tests or exams.

Certificate awarded: RYA Advanced Pilotage

Useful Information

Pre-course experience

Day Skipper practical plus at least one season’s cruising in command of own vessel.

Duration

Two days. There will be a comprehensive night exercise on the intervening evening.

Includes all tuition, snacks whilst under instruction, fuel, mooring fees, use of wet weather gear and Greek VAT at the appropriate rate. Please note, accommodation is not included. We can provide a list of reasonably priced hotels near our base.
