RYA Advanced Powerboat

RYA ADVANCED POWERBOAT COURSE

This two day course teaches boat handling, seamanship and navigation to the standards required to drive a powerboat safely by day and night in coastal waters. A night passage is included as part of the course.

This is useful course for drivers of 'chase boats' and larger yacht tenders to operate further from their base.

Candidates should be competent boat handlers to the standard of RYA Intermediate Course, and have thorough knowledge of navigation and chart work to Dayskipper theory standard.

It is also required that candidates hold VHF and First Aid Certificates.

RYA/MCA Advanced Powerboat Certificate of Competence

Candidates may then take the practical exam for the Commercial Certificate of Competence.
