RYA Advanced Powerboat

The RYA Powerboat Advanced Course is the culmination of the Powerboat training courses, so prior knowledge of Powerboat Levels 1 & 2 plus the Powerboat Intermediate courses is a base requirement.

As expected the level of training is greater with the emphasis on more intense navigation both by day and by night. You will come away from the Powerboat Advanced Course with a sound knowledge and the confidence to make passages over longer distance during the day in bad visibility and at night in a safe manner.

Course Structure

The importance of pre-trip planning, Pilotage and the use of leading and clearing lines, Meteorology, Rules of the road, use of engines, Emergency situations, Night cruising.

The RYA Powerboat Advanced Course is taken over two days. (With a night passage)

The minimum age is:

Age 17

Useful Information

Tuition:

2 Days Classroom / Practical

Individual: £320 per head

One to one tuition: £480 per head

2 students: £300 per head

3 students or more: £280 per head

1st Sea School boat hire:

£190 per day (extra fuel) divided by number of students
