RYA Advanced Powerboat

A course which hones in on passage planning and pilotage to allow the driver to complete short coastal journeys by day.

This is an exciting sophisticated course which teaches boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation to a higher level which challenges and improves the driver in adverse conditions during day and night. It is expected that the candidates navigation and chart work knowledge is that of the intermediate standard or at a level of the Day Skipper Shore Based Certificate

Course Structure

Preparation for sea, boat handling, passage making and responsibility as skipper, pilotage, meteorology, rules of the road, use of engines, emergency situations, night cruising
