On the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Shorebased Theory course, you will gain an advanced understanding of traditional methods of navigation in offshore tidal waters. This course is strongly recommended for anyone considering either the Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore practical course. It would also be useful for those considering the Coastal Skipper qualification. One of the most common causes of Yachtmaster practical exam failure is a poor understanding of the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (IRPCS) and the traditional methods of navigation. This course is designed to make sure that you are adequately prepared and ready to apply these principles if you progress on to take the practical exam.
