RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory

This is the bespoke course for the sought-after and highly regarded RYA 200GRT Yachtmaster qualification. The course offers 6 days of Theory training followed by 4 days of Practical on-water instruction in preparation for your RYA Practical Examination. This course is kept to a maximum of four candidates for your best learning experience.

Course Structure

The course starts on a Monday. You will have 6 days of theory training in topics including, chartwork, navigation, tidal calculations, safety, stability, meteorology, voyage planning and much more. Week two of the course will be 4 days on our 12m (40') training vessel. This training will prepare you for the demonstrations you will be asked to perform for the RYA Examiner during your Practical Examination which falls on the weekend after your course.

Useful Information

Please know this is not a beginner course. Before joining, you will be expected to have the skill level equal to RYA Day Skipper (or equivalent) and meet the minimum requirements that are listed on our website.
