Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper Practical Motor Cruising Course (Tidal)

The more ambitious motor cruising skipper can improve his or her skills on a Coastal Skipper Course. The course consists of skippered passages by each of the trainees in a whole variety of situations. Designed for Tidal Waters.

The scheduled Coastal Skipper practical courses are held at Ocean Quay Marina, near Ocean Village Marina, Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.

Own Boat Tuition Coastal Skipper practical courses can be conducted in Southampton, Hampshire, Hamble, Portsmouth, Lymington, Chichester, Cowes, Poole, Isle of Wight, or anywhere on the South Coast, else where in the UK or in Europe.

Suggested minimum

pre-course experience: 15 days, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours

Assumed Knowledge:

Navigation to Coastal Skipper shorebased standard. Boat handling to Day Skipper Practical standard.

Course Content:

Safety, passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling and emergency situations

Ability After Course:

Skipper a motor cruiser on coastal passages by day and night
