RYA Competent Crew

The RYA Competent Crew course is a 5 day course for beginners or those wishing to build on the skill they learnt during the RYA Start Yachting course. It is aimed at people who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. Most courses start in the evening to give the new crew a chance to settle in and find their way around the boat before setting sail the next day. The instructor will give a full safety briefing before the first passage but virtually the whole course is hands on. You are the crew and without you the sails will not go up and the boat will not be steered!

Course Structure

You will be coached over the RYA course syllabus as you live aboard one of the school's yachts. All meals are provided for the duration of the course.
