RYA Day Skipper Theory

The RYA are continually updating courses to take into account developments in technology and the electronic navigation aids now available on most cruising boats, sail or power.

Course topics include:

•the basics of seamanship, parts of boats, terminolgy.

Cost is £300 per person to include RYA TRaining Pack and loan of Navigation Plotter/Dividers/Almanac during Course.

•chartwork, position fixing, electronic charts and instruments

•the essentials of coastal navigation and pilotage.

•plotting a course to steer, estimated positions and tides.

•emergency and safety procedures including distress calls, use of flares, lifejackets, liferafts and correct clothing and lots more.
