RYA Diesel Engine Course

The one day RYA diesel engine course is a course designed to help you prevent and solve diesel engine failure. Class based but also with time spent learning on our school boats engines; the course builds understanding into the workings of marine diesel engines and systems.

Course Structure

The topics covered include:-

• The principals of diesel engine operation.

• The systems and parts of the engine.

• Fault finding.

• Rectification of common problems.

• Bleeding the fuel system.

• Changing the impeller.

• Routine maintenance.

• Winter lay up procedures.

Useful Information

The course is a balance is a balance of theory, hands on and practice.
