RYA Diesel Engine Course

This course will give you an awareness of main marine diesel systems and teach preventative measures to avoid mechanical breakdown at sea. Learn how to make simple diagnosis, repairs and checks required of you as a yacht skipper. For this diesel engine course, you will also spend time on a yacht around the engine compartment and simulate or even complete a full engine service! Course is usually run on a Friday

Learn the engine parts, function and in particular the air intake, water cooling, fuel supply and electrical systems. Learn how an impeller works, how to change an impeller change various filters and to bleed a fuel system. Simple fault finding, repair and winterizing of a sailing yacht engine
