RYA Helmman's Course

Helmsman\'s Course Information

This course is the first step to driving a motor cruiser. The aim of the course is to teach boat safety and boat handling within a defined area on a motor cruiser.

With an introduction to engine maintenance and driving, this course is ideal for new motor boat owners (the Power Boat is recommended for new rib owners) and for those planning to do the Yacht Masters course, it provides a good way to gain some motor boat driving experience.

The course consists of both theory and practical sessions with an instructor and covers the following topics;
