RYA Powerboat Level 2

RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses and RYA Safety Boat courses, also RYA Powerboat Level 1 courses. We are an accredited RYA Training Centre on the Northumberland coast, 40 minutes drive from Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England.

Our most popular course is the RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course. On successful completion you will gain a certificate for planing craft with Coastal endorsement. This is a two day course.

At the end of the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course you should be able to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day. No previous experience is necessary. RYA Powerboat Level 2 is the standard generally accepted by insurance companies and hire firms and can be converted to the ICC, International Certificate of Competence, for use abroad.

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is a two day course (8 hours per day) and takes place at our Shorebase at The Braid, Amble, Northumberland, using the Coquet Estuary and the sea out to Coquet Island. The Times and suitable dates vary according to the tides. We are only around a 40 minute drive from Newcastle upon Tyne.

Costs £215 per person for our RYA Powerboat Level 2 course including your certificate (passport style photo required) and RYA Handbook. All the surplus income from all the courses that we run goes towards the Trust’s charitable work.

Useful Information

Our courses generally have between two and six participants. They take place both at weekends and weekdays.
