RYA Professional Practices & Responsibilities

If you work commercially on the water, then this is one of the courses required in order for you to obtain your RYA/MCA certificate of competence.

Who's it for?

Delivery skippers/crew

RYA Yacht & Advanced Powerboat instructors

RIB Skippers

Charter skippers, yacht crew, Superyacht crew

Work-boat skippers

Harbour masters & Pilots

Fisherman

You can commercially endorse any of the following certificates:

RYA Powerboat level 2

RYA Advanced powerboat

RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, Offshore, Coastal (Power or Sail)

RYA Day Skipper (Power or Sail) but only combined with the shorebased modules.

Exemptions:

"If you hold an MCA Certificate of Competence as Officer of the Watch, Master 200, Master 500 or above you do not need to take the PPR course. Please send a copy of your MCA certificate with your application or renewal form for your commercial endorsement." - RYA website
