RYA Radar

The aim of this one day course is to provide the student with a working knowledge of radar in order that they can use the system to assist in decision making during navigation, pilotage and collision avoidance.

Radar is a very useful and often underused tool, but only if the operator know how to use it effectively. The course covers: how radar works, how to set up the unit correctly, target definition, radar reflectors, types of radar display, position fixing by radar, plotting and the use of radar in navigation and collision avoidance.
