The course format has changed this year in order to bring licensing in line with those offered in Europe. The new course will be delivered by a qualified radio instructor or taken via the RYA interactive on line programme. This item shows the classroom option. To book onto the on line course please go to the RYA Interactive Area. Following completion of the course, a separate assessment will now be carried out by an RYA radio assessor who will test your working knowledge of the radio on radio simulators as part of a practical assessment. You will also be examined by a short written test including writing a Mayday message and testing your knowledge of the GMDSS system, phonetics and procedure.
