RYA VHF Marine Radio (SRC)

The SRC is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio, fixed and hand held, using international channels.

The theory component of this course is completed as supported home study on-line, with the practical assessment and written exam taking place at the Orkney Sailing Club training centre.

The course fee is £125.00 and covers the RYA enrolment/application plus the exam and assessment fees, RYA VHF text book and instructor support. Assessments are carried out in groups of two or more but individual assessments are available for an additional charge of £30.00.
