This class is intended for crew who want to become competent VSAT and Satellite TV operators. However, this class is also suitable for staff of shipyards, or shore-based companies. Anyone who is looking to get a foundation knowledge of the systems we cover. This a beginner level training course, for those with little or no previous experience with satellite communications. We begin with the essential satellite communication theory, before moving onto operating and troubleshooting common VSAT and TVRO equipment from SeaTel and Intellian. Uniquely, the class also includes 1 day dedicated to the crucial skill of satellite television at sea. This includes extensive real world exercises. As this is a very hands on course, this class is offered classroom only. Where possible, students may be able to join for just the Sat TV session on Day 3. As many crew will already be competent VSAT operators, but require a short course in satellite TV.
