STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) is a set of international guidelines established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to ensure that seafarers are properly trained and certified to work safely and efficiently on commercial vessels. It is the legal minimum requirement for anyone looking for commercial work aboard vessels over 24 metres, in accordance with the STCW Code A-VI/1.
Course Structure

- Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1)
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2)
- Elementary First Aid (STCW A-VI/1-3)
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (STCW A-V1/1-4)
- Proficiency in Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6-1)
Useful Information
The course is run at our training centre Pole Tauroentum in La Ciotat, France. We run the full courses and refresher courses in English. Our Instructors are professional fire fighters with over 60 years experience in fire fighting, fire prevention and teaching STCW in France and in Malta.
