Section A-VI/2 of STCW states that Seafarers qualified in accordance with paragraph 4 in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats shall be required, every 5 years to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in Column 1 of table A-VI/2-1.
Course Overview:
Route One (0.5 days) - For those holding a full PSC&RB or equivalent and have undergone training onboard therefore able to fully complete a self-declaration form or those holding Advanced Sea Survival.
Prerequisites:
Hold a Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats certificate or MNTB lifeboat certificate
Complete and sign the Self Declaration form* confirming onboard training within the past 5 years
*If you cannot fully complete the self declaration form then you will need to attend the full day Route 2 course.
Or
Hold an Advanced Sea Survival Certificate (please note a restricted UPSCRB certificate will be issued after successful completion as per MIN533).
