We can provide you with training in preparation for the following UK Yachtmaster Coastal and Offshore practical exams, which can be taken under sail or power. We will assist you in the areas that you feel rusty in, which can be chart work, secondary port calculations and Man Over board. There may be other areas, which you feel you need further assistance and we are here to tailor a preparation course for you, so if you require 2 days or 2 weeks, we are here to help and assist your every need.
You or BH Marine provide the boat and the RYA provides an examiner.
The exam will include an assessment of your skippering skills, boat handling, general seamanship, navigation, safety awareness and knowledge of the IRPCS (collision regulations), meteorology and signals. Candidates will be set tasks to demonstrate their ability and may also be asked questions on any part of the syllabus for all practical and shorebased courses up to UK Yachtmaster Coastal level.
