Yachtmaster Offshore - 5 Day Prep/Exam (RYA, USCG or other)

There is no written syllabus for Yachtmaster Offshore. However, Heave 2 Yacht Charter & Sailing School are happy to offer preparation for these examinations. This will give you the experience of making longer passages and a refresher course on all aspects of yacht handling, navigation and seamanship.

5 days in total. This course can be undertaken on a weekend, or weekdays. Onboard accommodation is provided for the extent of your course together with diesel costs, berthing fees and all onboard meals. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

Useful Information

The Yachtmaster Offshore exam can be arranged and carries an additional fee which is directly payable to the RYA. Heave 2 will make the boat available for your exam for a nominal charge. Before undertaking this you will need a VHF licence and a First Aid certificate. Previous experience is required up to Coastal Skipper Practical standard (detailed overleaf) You will need a minimum of 50 days sea time, 5 of which as skipper, 2500 miles, 5 passages over 60m including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper. The exam itself will last for a minimum of 8 to 12 hours.
