Yachtmaster Offshore (Full Package, RYA, USCG or other)

Fully comprehensive professional skipper training course. Enjoy extra hands-on-helm and personal instructor time with an industry smashing 4 to 1 student to instructor ratio. This course is poles apart from your traditional Yachtmaster Fast Track training course, definitely NO cramming students 10 to a yacht. This course prepares students as much as possible given the time frame for working in the Yachting or commercial boating industry, not just Yachtmaster and STCW, but much more on the wider subjects such as on board systems, maintenance and repairs.

Course Structure

You will complete theoretical elements of your Yachtmaster offshore early in the scheme to enable all that knowledge to be applied in a variety of challenging passages. At our training ratios of just 4:1 you will be much more actively involved in skippering the yacht rather than just spending the time crewing. The practical elements are training all the way, we do not believe in empty miles, just sailing for the sake of it, we believe in training every mile. You will, with full yacht mater instructor support, plan all the passages you complete, and all pilotage too. You will be predominantly sailing the waters of Portugal and Spain on the Atlantic side, so there are tides comparable to those in the UK. By the end of your 15 weeks an evaluation will be made if you are ready for the final exam, if you require more training this is given to you FREE of charge. Some trainees require a little more training than others. If you do not pass your final exams, again extra training is provided FREE of charge. We have one of the highest pass rates in the industry, thanks largely to the fact that we only use FULL Yachtmaster instructors from day one of your training, and the fact that we never exceed 4 trainees per yacht.

The course includes food and accommodation every single day of your training, all exam fees, ENG1 fees, commercial endorsement fees, RYA Yachtmaster offshore certification, Powerboat level 2 certification, UK MCA STCW 2010 Basic safety training including STCW Security Awareness, and Food Safety level 2. Basically everything you need to hit the Superyacht docks running.

We provide all the courses we offer in house, we do not out-source any elements of your training course to ensure the same quality standards are met. We are also the only training centre in Gibraltar to be accredited by the Gibraltar Maritime Administration. established in 1999 we have been delivering Yachtmaster Professional packages since 2001.
