Licence: YM+ or USCG Master license with sailing endorsement ideally

 

Requirements: United States passport or green card/US employment card. 

 

STCW

Marine Medical (valid for 6 months+)

 

Strong sailing experience

New England experience

Good mechanical skills 

Preferences for light to no tattoos

non smokers and non or light drinking habits

Positive references 

 

 

Responsibilities:  Most important to this owner is Safety and good navigational skills, good mechanical skills, sailing experience, nice personality, very neat.

 

Other: The Captain will have their own cabin and the Mate/Steward-ess will also have their own cabin. Shared shower.

 

Job Specifics: The captain/engineer will join in CT. to prepare the boat for the summer season. Ideally splashing around May 10th. The owners/seasoned couple - will use the boat around CT. and then they will spend around 10+ weeks sailing around New England. They prepare their own meals, tidy up, etc.  Their previous captain was with them for 30 years. This is a custom Ketch built in 1985. Well maintained. Decommission in early October for winter dry dock.

 

Salary range: Within yachting salary guidelines depending on experience. 

 

Package: To be discussed and mutually decided. Paid time off, getting off the boat, etc
