Summary
Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Chief Officer for a 50m+ yacht
Experience and Qualifications
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role aboard luxury yachts, ideally with experience working on yachts of similar size (54m).
•Proven track record of leadership and working effectively within a charter yacht environment.
•Chief Mate 3000gt Certificate – valid and up-to-date.
•STCW, ENG1, and other relevant maritime safety certifications.
Additional Skills and Experience:
•ISM/ISPS Experience: Previous experience with yacht safety management systems (ISM) and security (ISPS) protocols is highly desired.
•Tender Driving: Confident in handling and driving tenders of various sizes.
•PWC License: Must possess a Personal Watercraft (PWC) license.
•Water Sports Background: Knowledge and experience in water sports activities (such as jet skiing, diving, wakeboarding) will be advantageous as the yacht caters to charter guests seeking adventure.
Role and Responsibilities:
•Oversee day-to-day operations on the deck, including maintenance and management of crew.
•Ensure full compliance with all yacht safety, security, and maritime regulations (ISM/ISPS).
•Assist the Captain in managing crew schedules, training, and safety drills.
•Engage with guests, providing water sports and tender driving services.
•Manage navigational watches and assist in voyage planning and execution.
•Handle guest relations during charters to ensure an unforgettable experience.

Location: Malta
Salary: EUR 7000 DOE
Leave: 42 days
Busy private/charter- Single season based in Malta
