A truly terrific opportunity has become available for an experienced hands on House Manager to support an international ultra-high-net-worth principal in Central London. This is a busy, informal home where high standards are expected, so you must be highly organised and switched on, yet adaptable and flexible enough to accommodate any last-minute changes in the schedule.
You will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the property, including managing other staff members, managing all purchases, administration, reports and finances for the home, organising and overseeing contractors and maintenance, cooking duties, shopping for the home, as well as front of house and butler duties when required.
You will work as part of a team to ensure that the household runs smoothly at all times and be on hand to support the principal in their day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will be upbeat, friendly, and professional with a pleasant and welcoming disposition, happy to help wherever needed. There will be travel involved of up to 3 months a year, so the ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to travel as part of the role.
Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, with flexibility required at times.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
• Administration and budget control, producing monthly budgets and account reporting
• Inventory and scheduling maintenance
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of all equipment
• Purchasing groceries for the household
• Great understanding of cleaning products
• Managing appointments, making reservations, events, and travel organisation etc.
• Healthy cooking and food preparation
• Assisting in a front of house capacity and butler duties
• The ability to be hands on and assist wherever needed
• Ad hoc duties as required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Prior House Manager experience in a similar role supporting an UHNW family
• Fluent English – both spoken and written
• A warm, friendly, and welcoming disposition
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised and well presented
• Ability to work autonomously with little direction
• A proactive self-starter
• A good all-rounder with common sense and an eye for detail
• Willingness to travel
• The right to live and work in the UK
• Excellent checkable references
• Up-to-date DBS check
