Summary

CHIEF STEWARDESS POSITION - 200-foot Private yacht that Winters in the Bahamas / Caribbean and Summers in the US East Coast / East Mediterranean  

 

The Chief Stewardess should be extremely skilled in five-star hospitality, various service styles and interior maintenance. This individual is responsible for owner and guest’s satisfaction aboard and must have the ability to anticipate owner/guest needs and strive to exceed their expectations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position, as well as team management and fiscal administration. The Chief Stewardess will enthusiastically support the Captain, Chief Officer and management structure as needed. They should be able to easily and professionally interact with owners and guests, providing excellent service in every aspect of their on-board experience.

 

The ideal candidate would have at least five years in yachting, with a good understanding of hospitality, general yachting protocols and operations. An individual with strong adaptability skills, patience and impeccable communication styles, both written and verbal will thrive in this role.

 

This program would best suit a candidate who is passionate about all aspects of the job, enjoys guest service as well as guiding and training junior crew. Additionally, someone with a strong skillset in table décor and flower arranging will stand out among applicants.

Qualifications:

 

·        Valid Passport

·        B1/B2 Visa

·        STCW/Security Awareness and Refresher if applicable

·        Current Medical Certificate (ENG 1 or US Equivalent)

·        Capable of effectively managing Interior department, and routine maintenance in coordination with the Captain / Owners Representative

·        Knowledge of Flower and Table Settings

·        Ability to delegate and lead by example

·        Supportive, and productive with Captain in contractor negotiations, accounting practices, and detailed financial / time management. 

·        Candidates must possess excellent people skills

·        Great organization, capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing workload

·        Computer Skills, Word, Excel, Photography

·        Minimum of five years’ experience in yachting, and two years serving as Second or Chief Stewardess.

Job Responsibilities:

 

·        Setting Stewardess Schedules for guest service and cleaning

·        Interior cleaning and maintenance

·        Interior Inventory

·        Interior accounting

·        Liaison with guest for service, meals and bartending

·        Liaison with galley for meal services

·        Orchestrating guest activities

·        Boat stowage for sea

·        Assisting with lines and fenders on deck as required

·        Assisting Captain with administrative duties

·        Crew Insurance tracking, submission of claims

 

Required Skills:

 

·        Ability to delegate, effective communicator, organized, diplomatic and versatile

·        Knowledge of restaurants and activities in cruising areas

·        Knowledge of flower and table decorations

·        Attention to detail

·        Financial management   

 

 

Other Requirements:

 

·        Early to mid-30’s, mature, serious types, well mannered

·        Physically fit, nonsmokers. No electronic cigarette users 

·        No visible and non-visible tattoos

·        Confident person, personable and loyal with leadership ability

·        Must like small dogs, and children

·        Polite, and respectful to crew, owner and supervisor – Head Chef, Chief Officer, and Chief Engineer

·        Longevity with good references
