Summary

 

Chief Engineer with minimum C/E (MN) III/3  or  III/2(Y2) with valid B1/B2 USA Visas and medical certificate, required for full time relief work on a 50m yacht from mid Nov 2024 until early February, 2025 based between Caribbean and USA east coast waters.

Vessel during this period will be completing a short shipyard period after which will be in the Caribbean for a repeat Xmas charter, with other possible charters and owners use into 2025.

Ideal candidate to be a hands-on individual (physically able and active) involved in the day-to-day work of maintaining the mechanical and electrical operations of the vessel, supervising the 2nd Engineer and ensuring that all planned maintenance takes place.

·      Expert technical / trouble shooting experience

·      Advanced knowledge of all systems on board: engines, generators, water makers, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, computers, hydraulics, sanitation, AVIT

·      Excellent planning for preventative maintenance

·      Ability to prioritize and organize

·      Multitasking

·      Ability to delegate, train and mentor

·      Additionally, the Chief Engineer will coordinate operations with shore-side engineers/support as needed

·      is responsible for the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment fitted onboard. This includes everything from the main engines to smaller pieces of equipment like jet skis, televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. Additionally, they will have a good knowledge base of finding and purchasing parts for the vessel.

·      Non-smoker

·      Wiling to undertake unscheduled drug and alcohol tests

·      Excellent verifiable references required

·      Salary based on experience and qualifications
