Summary
We are seeking an experienced, professional Captain to manage and maintain an Azimut 80 motor yacht throughout the winter season. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with proven expertise in yacht operations, maintenance, and marina management within the Mediterranean. The Captain will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the vessel’s readiness, ensuring it remains in pristine condition, and executing routine movements between marinas as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Navigation and Vessel Handling: Safely maneuver the yacht between designated Mediterranean marinas, ensuring secure docking and adherence to all local maritime regulations.
- Maintenance Oversight: Conduct regular inspections and oversee upkeep tasks, maintaining the vessel in top operational and aesthetic condition.
- Crew Management: Lead a small support team, fostering a professional and collaborative environment onboard, and ensuring all personnel adhere to operational standards.
- Owner/Charter Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for owners, guests, and charter clients, providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.
- Documentation and Compliance: Manage logs, inspection records, and ensure compliance with ISM, MLC, and flag state regulations.
- Budget Management: Oversee expenditures for maintenance, mooring fees, and supplies, ensuring budget adherence and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Captain on motor yachts of similar size (24-30m).
- Certifications: Master 200 GT, updated STCW, ENG1 Medical, with strong preference for candidates holding MCA CoC or equivalent.
- Languages: Proficiency in English; additional languages such as French, German, or Italian are advantageous.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a strong emphasis on operational safety and customer service.
Compensation:
Competitive daily rate or monthly package, commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a potential extension based on performance and winter needs.
